Good morning! What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Engaging in traditional programs? Plunging into new ministry endeavors? Going to church and small group? Going on mission trips?

None of the above. You can engage in all of these activities and go through the motions they entail and not be a disciple.

What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Take the word “disciple,” extract the first, second, and last letter from the word and you will now have the foundational understanding of what it means.

To be a disciple means to die.

Jesus calls us to deny ourselves. Yes, other preachers and ministries may call you to find your destiny and look for your breakthrough. We are called to die to self in order to follow Him.

This is the only way. This is the way to hope and joy.
