Good morning! Now that we are well into the fall season with the colder weather starting (at least for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere), leaves are turning (and falling) and our lawns are starting to turn brown. It happens this way every year.
What happens in every generation are new fads and new worldviews that regurgitate the same old lies about what will bring meaning and purpose to our lives. And with every generation those lies are exposed–only to be replaced by other lies.
Yet, all through the generations and epochs of history, God’s Word endures and will endure forever. For in that Word, the Creator tells us about who we are and what needs to happen to rescue us from our broken selves. God’s Word lasts forever because He lasts forever. His Son is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Whose word will you listen to –that which passes away or that which endures? Jesus Himself is that Word made flesh (John 1:14), the pinnacle of God’s revelation, both general and special! Will you listen to Him? He shows you the way: “Whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16b). Commit your all to Christ. He’s the Word that endures!
