Good morning! Aside from the prepositional phrase “in Christ,” the most treasured one is “by faith.” Hebrews 11, known as the Hall of Fame of Faith, employs this steady drumbeat to remind believers all through history of the proper foundation of life: trusting and treasuring Christ fully, completely, and unashamedly.
In the verses of the day, we see two results of this faith: trusting in God’s promises (in the case of Joseph) and a willingness to obey in the midst of persecution (in the case of Moses’ parents). When our faith is tethered to the all-Sovereign King of kings and Lord of lords, nothing stops us and nothing moves us.
Do we find ourselves shaken at the circumstances surrounding us? Does God seem far away while the present situations fill in that perceived void?
Trust Christ. Treasure Him fully. Completely. Unashamedly. You will find the promise of Hebrews 13:5b is true: “He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Thank you Pastor Matt. Appreciate you!I look forward to seeing these daily devotional posts.
